Katte Kokoku (Spec Commercials) Series (GyaO / Red Cross / Yamato / Nishikawa)
What is Katte Kokoku?
In 2007, during the dawn of YouTube when online video advertising was practically non-existent in Japan, film director Daisuke Miki launched a guerrilla project named Katte Kokoku—independently producing and publishing uncommissioned spec commercials for major household brands.
Characterized by cinematic storytelling, witty humor, and native viral mechanics, the videos attracted national media attention across ASCII.jp, CNET Japan, and ZDNet Japan.
This breakthrough led to speaking invitations from Google Japan and major commercial assignments including KDDI "Shibuya Fight", eventually laying the groundwork for the founding of Movie Impact Inc. in 2008.
